One Good Thing Every Day: December 14, 2013

Proverbs 3:5-6 NASB

Trust in the Lord with all your heart

And lean not on your own understanding.

In all your ways acknowledge Him,

and He will make your paths straight.

These words are a road map for me whenever I face a crossroad. My most indecisive, anxious moments find peace of mind in asking God to navigate rather than relying on my false sense of direction. Several of the verses posted this week are rest-stop reminders for me.

Philippians 4:19 NIV

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

Psalm 23 NIV

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Isaiah 41:10 NIV

So do not fear, for I am with you;

   do not be dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you and help you;

   I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Psalm 139:10

Even there your hand will guide me,

your right hand will hold me fast.

1 Peter 5:7 NIV

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Romans 8:28

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

May Peace be with all of us this Christmas and throughout the New Year!
