No amount of spirituality or religion, and no combination of ideas and doctrines about God, spares you of the pain of loss. There are times when being present in the moment means you weep and you hurt.
I have a Master of Divinity degree, and spent many years as a Senior Pastor, but I still cannot find sufficient words or explanation to somehow make loss okay for people who are faced with it. Why? Because it’s not okay. You don’t rationalize or even theologize a person through loss. You love them through it. You be there through it.
