Blogger of the Week:
Unforgettable Books
What country are you in?
United States
How long have they’ve been blogging and rolling?
Since January 16th 2012
Q1. Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging back when I was tired of waiting on The Ivy: Rivals by Lauren Kunze and I wanted to do an activity to distract me. I also started because I wanted to feel the thrill of receiving ARCs.
Q2. Do you do weekly memes and if so, what is your favorite meme and why?
My favorite meme ended a while ago. Still, it will always be my favorite because from my first post to the last, it was the meme with a small community that made me smile and laugh and just be thankful for.
(Soooo, what was the meme? I’m soooo curious.)
Q3. What is your favorite aspect about blogging?
The community. Cliche, but the truth. The comments I receive and the people I got to know despite my quiet personality.
(That’s not cliché)
Q4. If you can be stuck on an island with any author, who would it be and why?
Though I probably annoyed her enough from Facebook comments and going to all her book’s launch parties, and the one splendid talk at starbucks, I would enjoy spending a long time on an island with Brigid Kemmerer. I love all her characters, though Hunter can be emotional, and she is the first author I had a interesting conversation with.
(Aw, this will make Brigid so happy. She’ll probably cry. I bet she’s crying right now as she reads this)
Q5. What book would you give up your left arm and maybe even a leg to see it translated into film or TV? Tell us why!
Hidden Talents by David Lubar. I leafed through my brittle pages of this book many times and I just need to see this movie.
(I’m gonna have to look this book up.)
Q6. What is your favorite question to ask an author and why?
What is a mundane but exciting event in your life that you would like to share?
(Cleaning the house.)
Q7. What TV show is a not-miss for you?
Desperate Housewives because Brenda Song’s voice, exciting stories with terrific, flawed characters and suspense.
Q8. What is your favorite movie that you can watch over and over again?
The Prestige! A must see for all the world. The best final line. No matter how many times I see this movie, I want to watch it again. Tesla!
(Is this the one about magicians? I remember watching it and being confused as all holy hell)
Q9. Are you a cat, dog, fish, or gerbil person?
Dogs! Cute, lovable, always happy, delighted by my presence and non-judging.
(Cats totally judge. It’s true. It’s even in the way they look at you, you can tell they are judging you and your life choices)
Q10. Do you prefer print or digital?
Print.
Q11. What is your favorite genre to read and why?
Contemporary mysteries because I like being surprised and relate to what places and events the characters mention.
Q12. What would you like to read more about?
Where a character pretends to be another person because they want to and not because they are force to.
( I want to read a book where a stripper strips because they want to and not because they have to, so I feel ya.)
Finally, what is your favorite book of all time and why?
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire because the amazing mystery, terrific challenges, Herminone’s steadfast friendship, Ron’s struggle to be a non-jealous best friend, Victor Krum and Cedric Diggory at their fineness. “What would come, would come … and he will have to meet it when it did.” (Rowling 734), is the last line that inspires me to not be anxious towards the future challenges and just prepare for any possibility.
Today you have a chance to win Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. You know the drill.
