Winters have passed without you
here, and I’m not sure which
is colder; the absence of your
presence, or the lack of regret
you have towards leaving me
with nothing to prove of what
we once had was the real thing.
There are places that I will never
see again. Spots that I will never
gather up the courage to revisit.
And you cannot blame me
for not wanting to find you.
Since the day that you had left me
I no longer see a point in
seeking out the shelter 
that we once felt so safe inside.
