Paul Collingwood, England's winning World Twenty20 captain, carries a bat weighing a stupendous 4lb 8oz. Most bats are less than 3lb and for somebody to use a four-pounder in a match would be unthinkable. Deft touches would become almost impossible and a batsman's arms would soon cramp up.
