Writer’s Wisdom -Rule #97- Know How to Sell It. “What’s the secret to getting an agent or publisher? Write a good book. It takes more than this, however. You must sell the good book you've written, and this means mastering the ‘ten-second pitch’. You've got ten seconds to impress editors, and ultimately readers. So in twenty-five words or less, write down at least the general premise for your story. Fine tune it. Books are often sold on this ten-second pitch alone. Make it shine.”
