"Be friendly, Agent Ward. You do know how to be friendly, don't you?"
Wherein Jack would say something witty and clever if she was awake.
With editing, work, school, and NaNo I've decided to give up sounding coherent during the month of November. You thought my posts were sporadic and random during my editing stages, you have no idea.
Today I am at 8,439 on my word count - an all time low for me as far as NaNo is concerned. But I'm really having fun with the book and I'm not going to dash to try and get a high word count this year. I'll just shoot for the normal 50,000 and keep myself awake by drinking more tea than all of England put together.
Actually, I haven't written anything today so I am going to keep this short so I can start working on the book.
I thought it would be fun to share some snippets, since we're already a week into NaNo and it seems kind of like tradition - at least according to the blogs I read. So, here we go.
"What happened to Theobald?" "I think I poisoned him with tea."
Leaves stuck in his hair, his face was blackened, smoke curled off his clothes, and he was grinning, pleased with himself.
Maddock ran out of the house, yelling like a mad man and brandishing a fire poker.
"Why are my sheepies wearing daisy wreaths?"
"Reid is a lair, a traitor, and Gwyn shouldn't trust him! Besides, his nose is too big."
"No one hangs my knight!"
"Punch me, it'll look more convincing." "If you insist." "You don't have to sound so excited about it."
"This is Iris and Galen. They're my aunt and grandfather." "She's younger than you. And prettier." "I'd hope so! We'd have issues if Theobald was pretty!" "He's half pretty. It's the elf side."
"I didn't keep you alive this long so you could rush in and get yourself killed!" "Maddock's my friend! I have to save him!"
"Where's Kenrick?" "Lost in the backyard again?"
"He's an elf." "I think we've established that." "An elf." "You have problems with this, don't you?"
"We could be best friends, you and I," Reid said. "I'd rather kiss a bear."
"Theobald - your brother scares me."
"You'll have to wear silk from now on." "Shut up."
"I think you and Reid could be best friends, Maddock." "I'd rather marry a cobra."
"When I'm king my first order of business will be in beheading you." "I'm so glad we're friends."
"Kenrick, what's wrong?" "That grasshopper is going to kill me."
"Who is she?" "My mortal enemy.""You have a lot of those."
"Kenrick! Tell Julain to stop fraternizing with the enemy!"
"You kidnapped him!" "Kidnapped is such a strong word. More like borrowed."
And that is all.
Don't forget, I am revealing Abolished's cover on the 14th if anyone would like to join in on the reveal. Please email me if interested.
How is everyone's NaNo going? Enjoying your books?
Quote is from Agents of SHIELD again.
Allons-y!
