Writer’s Wisdom -Rule #94- Trust the Muse of Revision. “The procedure for fine art leads inexorably to editing, and all great writers have learned to be their own first, last, and most heartless editors. When you sit down to create, forget about the rules. Just write the way you would tell the story to a friend. Once that is done, apply the rules within the glories of revision. Write before you read. Then rewrite after you read. Repeat.”
