BECOME A BETTER WRITER in 10 WEEKS
Hi Writers & Writer-Hopefuls!
I am proud and excited to announce that I am about to teach my online poetry course, Poems That Don’t Suck, for the third semester this year.
I am inviting you to this event because I think that you or someone you may know would be interested in taking the 10 week writing intensive course. Please share the event and invite anyone who you think would benefit from this course!

ABOUT THE COURSE: “POEMS THAT DON’T SUCK” is an online writing intensive course designed to dispel the myth of writer’s block, develop a healthy writing and reading process, and push students to write bolder, braver, more honest poetry.
Each week students will receive a comprehensive lecture on avoiding the suck for a different topic of poetry. Lectures will include diverse and exciting poems from a variety of authors (including Richard Siken, Jan Beatty, Angel Nafis, Matthew Olzmann, Patricia Smith, Dorianne Laux and more!), numerous challenging and generative writing prompts, style-based challenges for brain-acrobatics, as well as in-depth feedback from the instructor and classmates. The course will focus on writing poems that have equal power on the page as they do when read aloud, then conclude with publishing. The best part—it doesn’t matter what state, country, or time zone you are in—as long as you have computer access and the mad desire to be a better writer—you can take this class!

"Megan Falley, teacher of the online poetry course Poems That Don’t Suck, is a thorough, engaging, and supportive poetry instructor. In ten short weeks, I’ve increased the time that I spend reading, writing, editing, and thinking about poetry. I’m more confident in my abilities as a poet, inspired to keep growing and learning, and dedicated to the hard work poetry requires. If you are serious about pushing yourself and your poetry to the brilliant edges of possibility, start here, you won’t regret a moment." –Jenith Charpentier
"Poems That Don’t Suck helped me drag all the suck from my writing and kick it in the ass. I was pushed as a writer and performer and improved in both areas. Megan knows what it takes to write the poems we need to write and shows us with compassion and drive." - Brennan Bestwick
