Book Signing Follow-up Impacted by winds @ B&N Woodinville

BOOK SIGNING FOLLOW-UP. POWER OUTAGE MADE THIS A TWO-DAY EVENT. The Seattle/Puget Sound area experienced high winds and rain on Sat. Nov. 2nd. That has never stopped the people of that area from going about their business. A lot of people flocked to the Barnes & Noble store in Woodinville where I was signing copies of THE SIGN OF THE EAGLE to warm up, drop by Starbucks and buy books. The place was packed, and I was doing very well when all of a sudden the lights went out and the store lost power. Unfortunately, they never came back on and people started leaving the store. A half-hour later, when power still had not been restored, management decide to close for the day. However, since I was not going to leave until later on Sunday, I offered to return for a few hours. The store manager, Dave, and the Community Relations Manager, Mike, were delighted. So, I did return the next morning and stayed three hours. Sunday is a quieter day, so I did not sell out the entire stock, however, the Sunday manager, Tom, was pleased with my efforts and would pass the word up the line.

I emailed Mike today and he was please with my efforts. He would be happy if I returned for an encore signing in the Spring. The chances of another power outage occurring should be very slim.

Next weekend I will be signing @ Hastings, Helena, Montana, Friday, Nov. 8th, and Barnes & Noble, Missoula, MT, Saturday, Nov. 9th. Details to follow.
