Rules Are Meant To Be Broken. #NaNoWriMo

I participated last year with just the goal to write 50k. I wasn't working on one project at the time. And I completed the goal. Yay! In case you're curious. I finished up the Wanted: Wife during that time and wrote The Naked Truth.
I told myself this year, I would start a new story fresh on November 1st and only write that book. Yup, and I did that. Started a new story called Ticket To Love. I've been excited about starting this story for awhile. I had hoped to finish my current work in progress before NaNo, but that didn't happen. Some things happened in my personal life that pulled me away from writing temporarily. Since my creativity seemed to be zapped anyway, it was easy to put the story aside. Well, until this morning. Damn it! The whole entire plot just clicked in my head. I was at the point in the story where I wasn't sure what I wanted to happen. I was scratching my head and grasping for the characters to help. Today they did. Gee, thanks!
So what does that mean? Once again, I'll be a rule breaker. I'm going to work on both books. My NaNo project, as well as the other. I figure, while they are both flowing, I might as well take advantage of it, right? Write on one until I get to a point where I need to make sure it's write, then write on the other. Perhaps I'll hit more than 50k this way.
After all, all that really matters is that I write the 50k in 30 days, right? It doesn't necessarily have to be the same story. Well, there is always next year to stick to the rules I suppose. :)
