Countdown to Halloween spooky discovery #1

Ever since A Nightmare Before Christmas, Halloween just isn’t halloweeny without some Tim Burtonesque style touches. In my search for such spindly, curlicue creepyish type things, I discovered Alexander Jansson’s work. This talented artist has a wonderfully whimsical way of weaving humor into his dark, moody portraits.

He also does animation. I really enjoyed this one about the wondrous world of Ramone Bosco. In this animated short, Jansson brings his illustrations to life and takes you on a dreamy, surrealistic journey, not unlike the acid trip scene from Across The Universe.
