Lurks - A Very Short Story

The radio had it wrong.


He didn’t have a name. He had a title.


He didn’t have a friend. Or if he did, he
didn’t keep her long.


But he was the master of minds. They got
that right.


He’s not invisible. He’s in plain view.


He’s what’s left when you turn out the
light.


He knows evil.


He knows you.


How he laughs.
