I am currently 68% into the book. I have to agree with you Reed, I don't think the person read the book in its entirety. I read the review you are referring to and I, at first, agreed with the reviewer. I was only a few chapters into the book at that time and wondering if I would be able to finish it. Feeling a strong obligation that I owed you an honest review, I decided to keep reading. However, it wasn't until ch. 12 that things started to come together. I distinctly remember saying, Holy Crap, the author does have a plan! I am currently on ch. 20 and I am really enjoying the story. Are there some things that need work? Sure, but not nearly as much as I thought. I would be interested in reading your next book also.

It's becoming very clear the threshold for whether or not someone is going to enjoy my book happens to be if they can get through chapters 2-10. With so many seemingly disparate stories and the plethora of violence, there are a good number of people I knew might give up. I had a lot of threads to start, the main cast is huge. I'd like to think by the end of the book everything comes together quite nicely.
The series is planned for minimum 7 books, so book one is mainly the world ending, as a platform for world building. I also wanted a flash of violence early on so people would know what could happen, what the villains were capable of. However, the first book is the most violent episode there will be in the series. The second one will have a lot more space dedicated to character development, and interpersonal struggles within the main group.
Thanks for reading.

It should be done late 2013/early 2014 Kim. I've got 60% of the first draft and I'm going to finish it during Nano. It could take anywhere from 1-3 months for me to finish the editing and get a cover put together. My hope is to release a new book in the series every six months or so, with a sprinkling of free to download origin stories every now and then. There is a short story on smashwords (its free) that is a little background on the bomber from chapter 9 of the book you can check out. Its called "Ballad of Clyde".

Oh, that's awesome. I forgot to mention that I'm also just in the process of editing the second origin short. Its the story of how Natsuko came to be a vampire.

I really like the cover art on your facebook pg. The one showing the Japanese vampire woman, is it Natsuko?
