The highs and the lows...
It's hump day again. It's also been quite a week in the filthy world of Felicity!
The start of last week saw my very first Amazon giveaway for Friday's Lesson. I am extremely pleased to say that it was a phenomenal success and landed me at #7 in the US erotica best-sellers chart! :O)
Thank you to each and everyone of you who grabbed yourself a free copy - and special thanks to those of you who have taken the time to leave a review on Goodreads and/or Amazon.
Almost simultaneously however, there was a storm brewing in the British media and as you will all no doubt know by now, a number of self-published erotica titles were removed from various selling outlets (including Amazon).
I have always found censorship to be abhorrent, but this wave of deletions was obviously particularly pertinent to me! (Although I have not been directly affected). In response I have complained to Amazon directly and asked them to review this policy change and reinstate the affected titles.
If you too would like to support independent authors and stand up for freedom of speech, then I heartily recommend the following blog post: http://onehandedwriters.com/2013/10/1... It contains a succinct and perfect summation of the problem, and what we can all do to shout, wave and complain about it!
There's also a link to the change.org online petition on my Facebook page http://www.change.org/petitions/amazo...
This petition now only needs a few hundred more signatures!
Thanks for reading my rant (it's nearly over!) Whilst some of us still believe that adults should be able to choose their own reading material, I think that this is an important one...
