Godspeed

Here's a very short poem I wrote that was published in magazine years ago (2005). It's called Godspeed, and I've found that readers have reacted to it in different ways.

-Vince

Godspeed

Ride on my friend
Take thy steel horse and blast its heart
Consumed by ambition, a past marred by failure
A highway awaits that dissolves all memory
Align the stars with thine inexhaustible passion
Steer thy soul down an uncharted course
Ride on my friend

Cecilia Hi Vince!

I really like this poem...so what did you have in mind when you wrote it?

What I actually thought of was a guitar player...of course, Led Zepplin was playing in the background...:> Then again...it could be about anything we are passionate about and attempt to achieve in our lives.

Good one, Vince!

Vincent Lowry Hi Cecilia!

I'm pleased you enjoyed it! :)

You're not far off the mark--it's about expections, dreams, and handling one's past.

Most of all, it's a message of redemption.

Cecilia Thanks for letting me know what you were thinking about when you wrote it, Vince. That is really good!

I truly like it and think I'll share it with my older son...the one in my picture on GR. He's going through a rough time now.

Thanks, again. I've always loved poetry...especially the ones that don't rhyme...:>
