This post on Forbes by conservative writer John Tamny is notable for its rigorous adherence to an alternative reality in which permanently shutting down the government is the central role of the GOP ("..it quite simply must be asked what the point of the Republican Party is if it’s not regularly shutting down the federal government … shutdown should be a part of the GOP’s readily unsheathed arsenal of weapons") and good for both the party and the people. Not only that, unfettered greed on the part of health providers and health insurance companies will cure cancer. Etc, etc.
