Always Something by Carly

crutchesMy daughter is now a senior in high school and she decided to quit field hockey for cheerleading – and she made the varsity team. :cheerleader:   Exciting right? It should have been … until she fell – from 6 ft in the air – came down on her ankle – and no, not broken but she’s got a high ankle sprain.  First the ankle was the size of a baseball.  Now it swells and goes down some, but it’s turning black.  As in black and blue but mostly black.  We wrap it daily.  She’s in a high boot.  She’s on crutches.  She can’t drive until she can bear weight on it.  We live in a colonial so she slides up and down the stairs on her butt.   And when she need something, it’s, mom – get me my computer, get my cell phone, I need my pillows to elevate, please get me ice, I’m due for Motrin … you get the gist.  From this, I have realized that I’m spoiled by having a seventeen and twenty-one year old. Taking care of her/helping her out when she’s home is a full time job! Add in the emotional worry? And I am wiped out!  My brain is blank as far as an interesting blog … but for this! I will say that I’ve tricked out her crutches in pink … what else!?
