Amorous Overnight Release Date!

Yes, dear friends, believe it or not, I finally finished Amorous Overnight and signed a contract with Samhain Publishing last week. It will be released on February 25, 2014, four and a half years after Enemy Overnight.

OMFG! Remind me to never, EVER set myself up with such an impossible triad again. I mean seriously, two seven-foot alien warriors and a timid little five-foot-two mother of newborn twins, thrown together on a spaceship?! Triads are difficult enough to wrangle without challenges like that! It took almost 118,000 words to get their story told, and that much information was almost impossible for me to get my head around. What in God's name was I thinking?

Oh yeah, I wasn't thinking--well, I mean I wasn't thinking Alien Overnight was just the first book in a series when I wrote it. That book was supposed to be just a lark, something fun and easy to help clear my brain of the big pile of crap that was BIG Trouble (my actual first book and the book of my heart, which was eventually rewritten and retitled BIG Temptation).  Instead, I got to the end of AO and realized, "Oh crap, there's another one coming." I felt like a pregnant woman who was expecting a single baby when she got to the hospital and went home with twins. No, triplets. No, wait--at least quadruplets, and maybe even quints. That's as high as I'll go. Five books, max, and this series is OVER. I'd rather stop at four but my muse may have other ideas.

I'll post a blurb (an unofficial blurb with fun profanity that will probably have to go when it hits my editor's desk) and a new excerpt a little later today, after I've had some sleep. I spent all evening updating my website, which was embarrassingly overdue. That was made more difficult by the fact that I got a new computer since the last update so I had to download a couple of big programs to accomplish the updates. Ugh. But for now, there's a blurb and an excerpt on my Coming Soon page that you can amuse yourself with.

So what do you think? Are you happy AmO is so long, or groaning? My beta readers tell me it goes pretty fast, even for an "epic" story. :D
