By appearing in these books I reach readers who follow Carl, Jade and the others; I reach readers tempted by the bargain, and by the opportunity of a cheap way to sample a range of authors. We publish these books because we hope they’ll succeed in their own right, but also because they’re gateways into our work for new readers.
