The Schedule

My U.S. readers have been waiting patiently for the release of my eighth novel THE COLD NOWHERE, which features the long-awaited return of my hero Jonathan Stride. Well, perhaps "patiently" isn't exactly the right word. Actually, they've been chomping at the bit to get the book in their hands...and I can sympathize, because I can't wait for the U.S. release, too!

I now have a schedule of U.S. launches next year, and it's going to be a busy winter and spring!

Some of you have already discovered my Jonathan Stride short story "Spitting Devil," which is currently available exclusively as an e-book in the NOOK store. All of you Amazon Kindle owners out there can now look forward to downloading "Spitting Devil," too: it will arrive in the Kindle store as of February 4.

Next, I have a very exciting Jonathan Stride novella TURN TO STONE, which will be released as an e-book exclusive on February 18. TURN TO STONE takes place in the days immediately prior to the action of THE COLD NOWHERE. (In fact, the last line of the novella is the first line of Chapter 1 in THE COLD NOWHERE.) This novella is almost half the length of a full novel...it's not to be missed! The action takes place in a Wisconsin small town where Stride stops to visit the grave of his mother on his way back to Duluth. When something shocking happens in the cemetery, Stride becomes enmeshed in a gruesome and suspenseful search for a killer who knows things that no one else alive should know.

There's more! On March 4, the paperback edition of my seventh novel SPILLED BLOOD will arrive in stores. SPILLED BLOOD won the award for Best Hardcover Novel in the 2013 Thriller Awards. It's a gripping stand-alone with an apocalyptic finale, so if you haven't already added it to your collection, you'll want to do so.

And finally...THE COLD NOWHERE will arrive in hardcover and e-book on APRIL 1. (No fooling!) This full-length Stride novel Crime Fiction Lover had this to say about the new book in its 5-star review: "This is a touching, violent and frightening novel, with a sparky undercurrent of eroticism. Previous admirers of Freeman's work will love it, while new readers will waste no time in tracking down previous episodes in the life of his awkward, damaged but resolute policeman." You can already find details and an excerpt on my web site.

So there's lots of reading ahead of you. Enjoy!

Laura Elisabeth Fantastic!!! Looking forward to the Jonathan stride novella, what's the release date for the UK?

message 2: by Brian (new)

Brian Freeman I'm checking on that, Laura. My hope is that it would be a simultaneous release in the UK, too, but I don't want to promise without hearing back from my publisher! :-)
