When everything isn’t perfect, we have to make do with what we have. We get some good advice in 1 Timothy 6:7-8 about being content. “For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.”
During our remodel we have had to make do with a lot of makeshift things. We were down to one sink in a bathroom with no light fixture until I finally discovered that I could plug in a pole lamp for light. I don’t know why I didn’t think of that before. Here’s my newly painted half bath. What do you think of the color?
The following photos show our makeshift counter tops—particle board and a floor tile.
We’re almost done with the kitchen and baths. The cupboard doors and drawer fronts will go on as soon as the counter tops are in. It should all happen this week. In the meantime, I’m trying to be contest.
What is your advice for being content?
