This 19th century portrait of Miguela Henson by Simon Flores, preserved in the Bangko Sentral Collection, made me wonder how much shampoo and conditioner she needed and how she dried her hair. Women in those days would sometimes knot the end of their hair so it won't trail on the floor, pick up dust, or be stepped on.
