(Non) Name Change & Message to British Readers

In the comments on a recent post, spycedtx asked whether I was going to change my name (again) as part of transitioning. I don't remember if I've posted about this here before -- I'm coming to accept that my memory is never going to be what it was pre-2005 -- but I thought I'd repost my reply here in case other people wondered:
