Why are you so confident that Spartans did not have mandatory pederasty? University of Maryland professor emeritus Elizabeth Vandiver, Classical history expert in her Great Courses lecture series says Spartan pederasty was indeed sexual, mandatory, widespread and the pairings were assigned. Spartan expert Cartledge says the same thing. Hyacinthus, was actually a patron hero of pederasty in Sparta! The biggest *misconception* is actualy the idealized depictions of Sparta by the primary sources you cite. These false depictions known by scholars as the Spartan Mirage include depicting Sparta as free from conflict, disloyalty and pederasty.
How are you so confident about your understanding of Spartan pederasty when experts on Sparta categorically disagree with you?

Otherwise how could an entire male population enjoy sexual relationships without sexual attraction. Also I've read Cartelege and he assumes a sexual component to Spartan pederasty but has no concrete evidence for it. I suppose a huge amount of historical information is based on circumstantial evidence but you seem overtly hostile to this historians position without much evidence to refute it.
