KEYWORDS FOR KINDLE

I received the Kindle Direct Publishing monthly newsletter yesterday and it reminded me of a link I’d seen in a Facebook group that I’d lost and really wanted to share. This urged me to find it again, because it’s pretty damned important and I’d never read the link before.

Now, this is the NEWSLETTER LINK.

And this is the link from the Facebook Writer’s Group.

Keywords when categorizing your book are so important, as obviously, it’s how readers find you according to words that match their own preferences. But, according to this page on the Kindle Direct Publishing website, if you want your title to appear in a certain sub-category then there is at least ONE keyword from the list required for your book.

So, if you’re theme is a rich guy and a secretary, then you might want to include billionaire or rich in the keywords. Sounds simple, but rich isn’t exactly the most descriptive keyword for a book, it isn’t in my opinion at any rate! But you get my drift :)

Now, the link is aimed at my genre; romance. But there are more. Find them here. They’re for SciFi, Mystery, Children’s, YA etc.

Definitely an imperative look if you’re thinking about self-publishing or are already self-publishing and want to tweak your search keywords!

Hope this helps! It did me!

For my first novella, I used:

Love Triangle, International, Erotica, Romance, Wealthy, Chick Lit

And if you’d like to know more about my series, #NaughtyNookie, then here are the links!
