Richard Laymon, Edo van Belkom, and Gary Brandner
Gary Brandner passed away Sunday after a battle with esophageal cancer. A friend and contemporary of Richard Laymon and a cornerstone of 80′s horror, Gary was best known for his novel, The Howling, which spawned a literary trilogy, a popular film franchise, and helped usher werewolves into modern pop culture. Gary went on to write over 30 novels, several screenplays, and over 100 short stories, including Walkers, The Brain Eaters, Cameron’s Closet, Floater, Doomstalker, and A Rage in Paradise.
