80 acres blog, about the coming effect of the Gulf oil on wildlife arriving in a few months...the great fall migration.
I remember the grim years when there were fewer than 30 whooping cranes alive in the wild...I remember donating pennies to pay for the wildlife refuge that might save them. I remember the hope...the fear...and I have read the accounts of them from before the coastal birds and coastal habitat were pressured by our occupation and our greed.
