The Tenth Planet DVD Release Rescheduled

In news that will do nothing to assuage theories about rumoured missing episodes being released on DVD for Doctor Who‘s 50th anniversary, The Tenth Planet DVD release has been rescheduled.

Classic Doctor Who on DVD - The Tenth Planet

Originally slated for release on 18th November, the BBC tell us that the First Doctor’s swansong versus the newly discovered Cybermen is now due out on 14th October. Whether the rescheduling – first rumoured last night on Twitter when Sainsbury’s altered their listing – is due to the surprise release of anything newly discovered is of course, up for speculation

The rearranged release schedule is as follows:

Doctor Who: The Monster Collection – 30th September 2013.
Doctor Who: Terror of the Zygons – 30th September 2013.
Doctor Who: The Tenth Planet – 14th October 2013.
Doctor Who: Complete Series 7 – 28th October 2013.
Doctor Who: Complete 1-7 Blu-ray – 4th November 2013.
Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor Anniversary release – 2nd December 2013.

You will notice that September and October each has two releases, while November and December both feature just the single DVDs issues. Plenty of space, a cynic with an interest in these things might think, for at least one more unexpected disc to be added to the schedule.

Until we know more, you can order The Tenth Planet from Amazon now for just £13.50 !
