What makes it a fantasy?

Yesterday around Mark Barry’s “cauldron” I was introduced as a fantasist. The interview is still posted so you can check it out if you missed it. It should give you a chuckle or two.
Today you can read my musings on the fantasy genre on Writer.ly. You might find my comments surprising.

The savvy author is advised to pick a genre before writing a word since each genre has its own paradigms and its readers their own expectations. Guess I’m not that smart. I just wrote what the Muse told me to write and found I had become a fantasist. I’m having fun with it though and I hope you are too.

Speaking of cauldrons, fantasies and fun there’s plan a-brewing for an October event. Stay tuned.
