A New Trial Blogging Schedule for the Next Month
I’m an over thinker. I get an idea into my head and rather than do it, I think about it…and think about it….and think about it some more. I try to see all the angles. I try to figure out the pros and cons of such an action. I even try to understand how my lovely readers of this blog will feel and how will I feel about this change.
Almost a year ago I realized that how and what I was blogging about wasn’t working for me and quiet frankly didn’t seem to be helping anyone else. I’ve wanted to change that for some time and I’ve been playing around with some ideas on how I will accomplish that. Only all my plans have eventually fallen apart, either because no one is interested or because I can’t sustain the momentum.
I have a busy schedule. You have busy schedule. We’re all busy. And reading me yammer on about life everyday probably isn’t something you want to do. Most days it’s not something I want to do. I’d rather be writing the next story for you to read and creating book covers.
That said, I also know that business needs help to thrive, hence the blog, websites, and social media. But what to write here that actually interests you and keeps my attention long enough to keep going?
That is the question of the hour. I’ve asked previously what people would like to have me write about, because quite frankly, this blog is for you guys more than it is for me. I’m quite happy to sit in my author dungeon all day typing on my current manuscript and creating book covers, emerging whenever I have the urge to share my current random thought with the webverse. However, that is not how platforms built and I want my books to be my career, which means I have to build a platform from which readers and clients can find my books and my cover designs.
So a few of the suggestions I’ve received in the past have consisted of story excerpts, background information on the books, updates on what I’m working one, and articles on writing and publishing. I’ve been wanting a change and I think I’ve hit on something I can do.
I’ll only be blogging here twice a week: Tuesday and Thursday. Tuesday’s will be a story excerpt and a behind the scenes look at the book it came from. Thursday’s will be an article on writing, indie publishing, business, or book design tips. During the first week of the month I’ll be posting a monthly update of what I’m working on and how it’s doing. There might be the occasional that fits into none of the three categories which will be posted on other days of the week.
This schedule won’t take effect until the beginning of October as I have other posts scheduled. If you have any suggestions on what you’d like to see here or possibly questions you might have about business, let me know and I’ll put them in a post.
Thanks and have a great weekend,
