The best way to get over a guy is to get under a new one!
By now, you've heard the news that former Caleb hopeful, Charlie Hunnam, has been plucked from relative obscurity to play in the major leagues as billionaire dungeon master, Christian Grey.
I have to admit I was completely blindsided by the pick since he wasn't one of the contenders we'd heard about in the months since we discovered there would be a 50 Shades of Grey movie.
Within minutes my Facebook, Twitter accounts, along with my phone were bombarded with messages to bring me the news and ask how I felt about it. Well, I can't say I was too upset (though I did play along). After all, E.L. James has a movie franchise and I'm still trying to get on a book shelf at my local Books-A-Million. To say we are in different leagues is an understatement.
Still, it sucks to have your fantasy cast member seduced from the dark side into the grey area (terrible pun).
I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Hunnam at the LoneStar Motorcycle Rally in Galveston, last year. I gifted him with copies of the Dark Duet and he gifted me with his warm body pressed against me while we took a photo. His exact words before we snapped the picture: "Can I hold you?"
My Reaction!
I wish Mr. Hunnam and the incomparable E.L. James the best. I hope the movie does what the books have done: Open the door to the rest of us. Captive in the Dark was in the works long before I knew of 50, but I know that without him, many readers may not have discovered Caleb.
However, I'm not the type to pine away after a man who isn't mine anymore. It was fun, Charlie, but I have to get over you.

Yes, that's my problem with Paul. He's just never done anything that makes me think he's a diverse actor. Ryan on the other hand is a man of so many talents!
Oh my... :( I can't picture Caleb as any other but Hunnam. :( I honestly don't get the 50 Shades casting so far. :S But moving on, if I had to choose from your list, I'd go with Ryan Gosling: he has the looks, the attitude, the acting chops... I mean, in a second he can go from sweet boyfriend to pretty damn scary guy. I think another great choice could be Alexander Skarsgård, he has the acting chops as well and has proved he can be dark, sexy, conflicted and also sweet if he wants...
Or I don't know, maybe even Chris Hemsworth.
Paul Walker is hot, but guess that's just it. The others, I don't know, I feel they lack the attitude. Tom Hardy is great in almot every sense but I don't think he truly fits Caleb's description... sadly, because I love him. :)
My ultimate choice: Skarsgård.
Might I suggest a "look-a-like"? Ladies I give you Travis Fimmel from "Vikings".

Alex Pettyfer - he has the look, and the toughness, which Caleb is all about. Soft and pretty just does not do it.

Okay, I love love the idea of Alexander Skarsgård as Caleb; however, if Paul Walker can pull off the acting skills, then I will go with that choice.

I hope this works. I have never posted photos. CJ Roberts' books were my favorite books and this actor was the only one crossed my mind when I thought who could play Caleb. It's funny because I thought this a while back and when I saw the posting I couldn't wait to post his photos. I hope you like him CJ Roberts. I think he would be great as Caleb because Caleb had a middle eastern accent and Kivanc is from Turkey which is considered both Europe and middle east depending on the person. Plus, he has the middle eastern quality to him which I think is extremely important for Caleb's character. That's what makes him feel dangerous. It's just my opinion. :)
