Paper and Ebook copy bundling

As you may or may not know, Amazon is launching something called Kindle MatchBook, where the paper copy of a book will be bundled with a discounted or free copy of the ebook.  This launches in October some time.

I saw no strong reason not to participate (I don't usually like to advantage one retailer over others, but my paper sales are very small compared to my ebook sales), so for those of you who buy paper copies and like to have e-copies, I've signed my books up for the ebook to be bundled free with the purchase of physical books available through Amazon.

Estara A propos of this I wanted to thank you for supporting the other sellers, too, because many of the indie authors don't. I much prefer buying at Kobo or Smashwords when I can.

Andrea I suspect it would be financially advantageous - at least in the short term - to follow the Amazon only crowd, but I tend to try to behave in a way in which I'd like the authors I buy to behave (ie. not obliging me to buy from a particular vendor).

On the up side, I was offered a chance to take a part in a Kobo promotion this December, which is nice.

Estara You'll post on that so I can signal-boost, won't you? Oh and Rachel Neumeier mentioned Touchstone very favourably again in a blog post today.

Li I much prefer reading digitally, but I love the idea of MatchBook, especially for those keeper books.

Andrea Yes, it just makes sense that you get both versions when you buy the physical book. [Though I buy my paper copies from The Book Depository.]

I'm reading a lot more on my phone now I bought a smart phone with an enormous screen. Great for five minute snatches of reading.
