Question Sunday for Carrie Ann
Howdy! This is the time where you guys get to ask the questions and I get to answer! Ask my anything you’d like in the comments and I’ll come and update the post throughout the day with the answers! So ask away!
Q from Hannah: Are you doing more books past Jackson’s in Holiday, Montana?
A: Yes! Starting in 2016, I’ll be doing 5 more Holiday, Montana books. These had always been in the back of my head but hadn’t known if I would be able to do them because of time and interest from readers. Well, you guys asked, so here I am! You already kind of know which characters they’ll be about if you read DREAMS OF IVORY.
Q from Hannah: OMG I have to wait until 2016? WHY!?
A: I know that seems like a long wait, but between now and Jan 2016 I have at least 22 books coming out. At least. So yes, you have to wait a bit to meet the new Holiday crew, but I’m not going away anytime soon.
Q from Val: Do you ever doubt your ability as a writer? If so, how do you deal with it?
A: I would say I do daily, but not always to a huge degree. Most days I don’t feel like I have enough time or even that my story is horrible. Then when I actually read through it again, it’s not as bad as I thought LOL. If I get the writer blues I either go back and read a complete book of mine, talk to my writer friends online, or go and read a comfort read (like Nalini Singh or Lauren Dane) and I’ll feel better.
Q from Sharon: are you thinking of doing a new series, if you are what are they going to be about?
A: Oh yes! I have plans! LOL I have 5 new series coming out between now and 2016. So far. LOL My first new series will be out in Fall of 2014. I’m planning on announcing what that’s about at Lora Leigh’s RAW next month in person to those readers. Then I’m sure between me and the bloggers there (LOL) we will announce what it will be about online. I will announce 2 more of those new series at Wild Wicked Weekend in Feb 2014. It’s odd that I’m announcing them in person, but it turned out this way for reasons you’ll see later LOL. Oh! And I’m announcing a brand new series after the last Redwood Pack book comes out next year. Whew! I’m busy!
Q from Mary: Please tell me there are lots more shifters books in my future from you? Love your books but admit my fondness for your Redwood Pack Series.
A: Thank you Mary! I love my Redwood Pack too. And yes, there are more shifters in the future. That’s not all though…
Q from Anny: in your coming soon list, it shows when the Redwood pack series ends, and that’s in 2014, and if the rest of Holiday Montana doesn’t come out until 2016 then what are u writing in the meantime? Dante’s circle can’t be the only thing coming out in 2015 so what else are you coming out with?
A: I sort of answered this question above. I have 4-5 new series between now and then that are mixed with the old series. I will be able to really talk about it next month. I promise.
Don’t worry, there’s going to be at least a book out every other month.
Q from Val: How did you find your critique partner? And how do you recommend a new writer go about trying to find one?
A: I found Lia from an online writing Yahoo group called Rom Critters. I think they might be taking applications.
Q from Anny: when you first started writing, what did you expect when you released your first book? were you expecting to become so popular? or were you nervous and didn’t know what to expect?
A: When I first started I thought it would be cool to get a book out and see if anyone bought it. I honestly thought I’d sell maybe 10 copies and call it a day. I was fine testing the waters and then going back to being a full time professor and reader. I would have continued to write stories, but not for what I’m doing now since it didn’t know I’d love it as much as I do. And was I expecting to become popular? Oh that’s so awesome that you think it is LOL. I’m surprised every single day that this happens. That’s why I keep writing because I’m afraid I’m going to wake up one day and it’s all going to be a dream.
SPOILER QUESTION FROM SHATTERED EMOTIONS:
Q from Anny: Why did you choose to have Lexi not be able to shift? And why North as the one destined to kill Corbin?
A: Lexi came to me as latent. It’s just who she is. In Hidden Destiny you’ll find out a bit how she deals with it. And as for that last question, fate can be tricky. Just like destiny.
