Explanation of Absence!
Good afternoon, everyone! This post is going out a little later than I like to send out my posts, but that's because it wasn't pre-scheduled.
I posted to my Twitter last night that I would be sharing a post today as to why I have been absent this week. Let me just assure you that there are several very good reasons!
First, I was resolving some lingering browser/server/IT issues. I was fairly certain there are no longer any lurking about, but I needed to be sure.
Second, after resolving the last of those issues, I found some requests for interviews and reviews that had been lost in the mix. Apparently the first of my IT issues was the loss of interview/review requests; I had mistakenly thought it was just because I was receiving the requests directly by email, so I never thought to check. Shame on me, and that mistake will not be made again.
Third, I have some exciting reviews that I'll be sharing within the next week to two weeks, mixed in with interviews! I've been hanging out reading some fantastic novels and catching up on some of my pleasure reading.
Fourth, the video game Dead Island: Riptide. LOL. Sorry, sorry, I know, I know! Shame on me! My husband was gone for a good chunk of time, and we were playing co-op. He returned home and we were SO close to finishing the game, we wanted to beat it. (We did, it was awesome, can't wait for the third game which was just recently announced.)
Fifth, I've been editing. Not just a little editing, but A LOT of editing. I have this extremely odd passion for editing, and that comes before writing quite often. Be honest, though, wouldn't you rather your editor be passionate?
Sixth, and this kind of goes with the fifth, is that I will be officially appearing as a vendor for the 5th Annual Hampton Roads Writers Conference to provide my passion for editing to a larger range of writers. This is quite the opportunity for me, and has put my role as an author on the back-burner this week. I've been working on the logistics and gathering lists of supplies and such that I'll need for the conference, as it is a mere month away.
Well, that's what's been happening on my side of the screen, and why I had a mysterious absence this week. Thanks for hanging in there!
Check back in tomorrow for an interview with author Drew Avera!
