Why Hello There

I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve blogged. Okay, not really, but still. I’ve been on Facebook and Twitter updating the move, so you at least know what’s going on if you’re over there.

I moved to Chicago last week. I think I like it. I’m still in the “OMG I need to find the bank, post office, and get our boxes here” mindset though, so I will let you know what I think later LOL.

I’ve been living in a small college town for the past 5 years. That is REALLY long for me because before that I hadn’t lived in a city for longer than 3 years. And even then, I didn’t live in a house/apt for longer than a year. Being an AF kid had it’s perks — you never collect STUFF. LOL

That college town though, prepared me for Chicago. I know. Odd right? For 9 months out of the year, the town would have an increase of 40,000 people. Crazy. Over half of these people have cars so now there is tons of traffic on roads meant for less than half the population. The stores were ALWAYS busy because college kids don’t know the meaning of shopping for the week, rather than the day. I know some live in dorms, but not all of them did. Restaurants were ALWAYS horrible busy with college kids.

And the worst? College kids just walk into streets and expect cars, buses, trucks, and bikes to move out of the way for them.

All. The Time.

Now that I’m in Chicago though, it’s like the same thing, just not college kids. When we’re driving, we’re having to doge out of the way of cars and people who don’t know the meaning of a cross walk or lane line. It’s a big city, so really, it’s not a Chicago thing, but a metro thing. I’m just getting used to it, though really, I have been preparing for the past 5 years in college hell LOL.

Writing on the stairs. Not so much fun.

We don’t have furniture or our goods yet as they should be coming tomorrow or at the latest, next week. Sleeping on an air mattress is killing me, but soon, I will have my pretty new bed.

Yesterday, though, hubby bought me a brand new desk and chair. So now I’m actually working from something other than the stairs! Yay!

Isn’t it pretty?

Today I’m working on North’s book, HIDDEN DESTINY (Redwood Pack 6). I’ve written the prologue so I just spent the past hour in Cyam’s mind. Once I use some brain bleach, it’s time to get into Lexi’s POV. :-)

An Unlucky Moon (Dante’s Circle 3) is at the final editor’s right now. So yes, we’re getting closer. EVER AFTER (the anthology that contains Dante’s Circle 3.5) is at the formatter’s now. We should have review copies soon. If you’re not signed up for the review list, you should be. You just need to have a blog. :-)

When I’m not doing those other 20394 things, I’m getting ready for Lora Leigh’s RAW in Maryland next month. Registration is still open and there are a couple spots left if you’re on the fence about going. We’re doing SO SO much during this time and since it’s small (300 readers vs 18 authors) there’s lots of one-on-one time.

Okay, that’s it for now! Off to go kill people…eh…I mean write happy words in HIDDEN DESTINY.
