Editing

While Skyping with my editor last night, I noticed how well he understands me. It occurred to me that, although we have never seen or spoken to one another, we have been in each other's heads to the point that he feels like an old friend. I am a textbook introvert so this relationship of pure exchange of ideas is uniquely satisfying. How about the rest of my author friends? How do you feel about your editors?
