A Wicked October

I’ll either lose my mind this October, or somehow manage to pull all this crazy-amazing stuff off. Halloween is my favourite holiday – bet you can guess why – but this year just might be the best one ever. Not only will I be celebrating the launch of KILLER’S INSTINCT, the monster-hunter / zombie novel I co-wrote with Dawn Dalton, organizing the 4th Annual Crossroads Blog Tour, and attending the Surrey International Writers Conference – I’m also be witnessing the birth of my first stage play, INHABITED.

INHABITED was co-written by me, Teresa Pettit, and Julie Waage – local actors, writers, and owners of the Grande Parlour Productions, theatre production company – right here in my small town of Cold Lake, Alberta. The show will run for two nights at the end of October and auditions begin this Saturday.

Talk about a wickedly full plate, eh? But I’m excited to see how this production unfolds. I’ll learn so much from Teresa and Julie – and already I’m amazed at the show of support from within the community. People are offering to help backstage, with set design, sewing costumes, manning the “ticket booth”, and more.

INHABITED is intended to be an immersive experience. Part old fashioned “haunted house attraction” and full, three-act stage play. It will be for a mature audience – lots of thrills / scares. Can’t wait! Here’s a teaser from the script:

“Your own demons, your own darkness…your very own horror story…we all have one, whether we admit it or not.”
