The Order of Kingdom Prosperity
The spirit must first prosper and then the soul prospers and then the body or physical realm prospers. The spirit is the container and when it overflows from the blessings of heaven it will pour into the soul and onto the body or physical realm.
Here are scriptures which support this order of prosperity. The very first thing to do is to seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness and then you will have an abundance of all you need (Matthew 6:33). The kingdom of God and righteousness are spiritual and they build up the spirit man. Thus prosperity of the spirit comes first. Then you might ask which is second in order, the mental or physical realm? The soul has to prosper before you can prosper in the physical or financial realm (3 John 1:2). John’s prayer for prosperity, which reflects the Father’s will, asks that natural prosperity rises to the same level as prosperity of the soul. If the soul prospers at a high level, then the natural prosperity can rise to the same high level. This scripture implies that prosperity in terms of worldly possessions will not exceed prosperity of the soul. Hence seek to prosper first in the spirit, second in the soul and then you can prosper in the physical or financial realm. Below is an example of believers who prospered first in the inner man and then in other aspects of life.
The Holy Spirit saved, healed and delivered many people through our mission to homeless people. One homeless man came to several services, and he always wanted to be near us. Although the man’s behavior appeared to be peculiar, the Holy Spirit was working in his life. The man went to another city, and we did not see him for several months. Later he returned to give his testimony at our mission. He boldly proclaimed that he had to return to the mission to glorify the Lord. He had been homeless from the age of 16 to 40. During that time he was never able to have a real job. After the Lord changed his life, he was hired to work in a factory. He was such a good worker that he was promoted to supervisor. He had his own home and had met a girlfriend whom he planned to marry. He glorified God for changing his life. We saw him a few months later, and he said he was moving into a new home. His family had come from another state to help him move. Let the Lord be glorified for his power to change lives!
