Retro Diet Ads: The more things change, the more they, yeah…

I’ve been doing some very entertaining research on diet and fitness advertising. Behold the madness:

Size 8 Diet cereal (yes, SIZE 8). Pour your delicately toasted wheat puffs from a stylish Pucci canister.

Slimming Beds. The Shake Weights (or Thighmaster?) of the ’60s.

Diet Pepsi. If you want to be stalked by a creepy dude in snorkeling gear, this is the soda for you.

Eat Fat and Grow Slim. "The Rack used to be an instrument of torture. Now…it makes a girl feel marvelous!"

Ayds Reducing Plan Candy. A most unfortunate choice of names.
