Batgirl No. 25by *AlexGarner

Alex Garner is amazing. What a cover.

Omg did Babs get a pixie cut?!

No, it’s a fill-in that takes place when she’s fifteen, I think. I don’t much about it.

I’d like her to have shorter hair currently…not sure if it would fly with Warners!

Oh, okay. Still, you’re right, it is an amazing cover! Do you get the covers before the story is written?

Like I said, I didn’t write this issue, but generally, the covers are drawn from ideas I come up with or are inspired by the script. Sometimes the script is done first, optimally, but sometimes we just have the plot to work from.

Usually, the artist can come up with something great from just the plot details, they are clearly a million times better at that then I could ever hope to be. Alex Garner is one of the best in the business and really only needs a rough outline of the issue to figure out what the best possible cover is.

The biggest pain with covers is that I hate spoilers so I am always trying to keep the covers from giving anything away. But with an artist like Alex, he can make even the most simple images thrilling.
