On the Road Again, and the New Story!

I saved some of the bubble wrap from last time, as well as an eclectic collection of beer boxes. Beer boxes are the absolute best boxes for books, and though I have tried hard to kindleize my life, I have, so far, twenty seven beer boxes of books packed. On the positive side, moving guys think I am much cooler than I appear at first glance, when they are moving my beer boxes. On the negative side, by twenty-seven heavy boxes of books, my charm seems to wane, and they start muttering about whadafuk does she do with all these books.

The charm of moving has waned, long since, but I have one more to go. The kid and I are being transferred back to Boise- in a month! Thank goodness we don’t have to drag out that pesky planning. When we get back to the beautiful City of Trees, I’m going to chain my ankle to the nearest maple and not move again. Ever. I swear, life is exhausting some days. On the plus side, The General and the Elephant Clock of Al-Jazari is in edits! I really like the new story. If nothing else, I have entertained myself! And I’ll look forward to sharing the story with you. From Boise. Where I will be living without moving for the rest of my life. Really, I swear.

Marge Glad to read that you are moving back to a happy place. And I'm also glad to read about the new book. I'm really looking forward to reading it!

oh, thank you--I'm going to be relieved I can settle down. I've been retired from the Navy for nearly 15 years and I've not stopped moving! Restlessness can be good creatively but really exhausting.

I love the new book- it's just the sort of book I like to read. I read it again this week when I couldn't think of anything else I wanted to read and I still loved it and thought it was fresh and interesting, with good narrative drive. I like that in a romance, to have things happening to keep you turning the pages to find out what happens next!

Good luck with the move! I just did mine over the weekend and wish I never had to move again...Alas there are at least a few more in my future!

I'm so exctied for these stories, I can't even say!

moving is probably good for a person, to break our attachments to material things. But man, it really wipes out the lower back. And I am sort of hysterical until I unpack the coffee pot!

It certainly helps with the spartan lifestyle. I did the math over the weekend, and I've moved 12 times in the last 11 years seven of those were international...I must be the worst kind of masochist.

Melanie Ahhhhhh Boise, Idaho. What a gorgeous spot and location of several novels. I can hear your muse swimming ahead, happy as a trout. Although your last move? What will you do when the mountains and deserts start calling?

Good luck and happy trails once more. Oh, and congrats on the General. I can't wait for that book to release.

I must admit I tried to talk the kid into New Mexico. But I'm happy with Boise. It's really a beautiful valley, with the mountains all around. I'm very excited about the new book! I tried something different for me- we'll have to see if it pans out.
