Chasing the "Zing"

I have to think that romances are addictive. Addictive substances change brain and body chemistry to provide brief upticks in endorphins. When reading a really good romance I can actually feel this happen. Usually during some emotional scene ( please don't leave me! do you love me the same way I love you?,did you cheat?) I get a feeling not unlike a mild electrical shock. Sex scenes just arouse me. If I want that I can get it from porn. Romance adds the additional emotional dimension that makes it connect at a deeper level with the reader. Am I crazy? Do any of you have that response?
