A soldier's missing dog

I hope people will share this story, for this soldier's only hope of recovering his dog is through publicity. The dog is micro-chipped, so that may help.

Loretta I'm "liking" this again here so it will show up in more home feeds. I do hope someone finds him.

Sharon Thanks, Loretta. It does not seem likely, but miracles do happen.

Rebecca Huston What a tragic story!

message 4: by Sharon (new)

Sharon In a post of mine earlier this week, Rebecca, I'd discussed how people post the most appalling comments on-line, filled with hate, citing the tragedy of those two women in Maine who drowned after accidentally driving off a boat ramp in fog. Well, guess what? There were people to do the same for this story, too, commenting to the soldier: "Grow up. Your dog has forgotten you."

I simply cannot understand what pleasure they can possibly get from doing this. Sometimes I am baffled by people's lack of humanity. They would be the first to complain if sympathy was not shown for their sad situations. I wonder if Karma ever catches up with them.

message 6: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Huston I do know Karma works, I saw it happen. But to make a comment that the dog has forgotten you -- HA! Anyone who has owned a beloved pet, knows damn well that they never, ever forget you. People who are cruel are to me some of the most vile soulless creatures on earth.

message 12: by Christina (new)

Christina It doesn't look like the dog has been found yet. Here is a facebook page set-up to keep people informed, https://www.facebook.com/pages/Help-F...

Since they don't appear to have been re-united after all I am sharing this to my blog too, with the request that people will pass it on. I do hope it helps. I don't have many blog readers, but I guess if a few pass it on, then a few of their friends pass it on, it all helps. So glad you shared it Sharon, so I can help too.

Tina Galli I was looking for the link where I read this and the story had been removed. I assume that they posted the story incorrectly and therefore removed it. I apologize for any errors. Thanks Christina for the watch page I will keep my eyes on it and hopefully they will be reunited soon!

Loyaltyofdogs.com We hope whoever has Oakley will come forward so he and Lt. Harker can be reunited. There is no friendship more true than that of a dog and his soldier.
