Writer's Conferences — Do's and Don'ts

At the last meeting of Monday Night Writers, one of the members mentioned he had attended his first writing conference ever, and how much he enjoyed the experience.

That brought back memories of my first conference, when it seemed unbelievable that I could be in the same room with real writers. I didn't think of myself as one of them—I was just someone who did some writing but didn't have a book or a clips portfolio to show anyone.
