Sexy Sunday Snippet - Of A Darker Nature
Every Sunday I like to give you a sexy little snippet of a book. Today, I'm offering a peek at one of my own backlist titles: Of A Darker Nature. I'm currently working on its sequel so I hope you enjoy this little nibble ... :)
“Do you ever wonder what something tastes like?” Emily asked, not quite looking him in the eyes.
He was beside her in an instant, pulling her up out of the chair.
His mouth closed over hers in a slow, deliberate kiss. One hand cupped the back of her head and he threaded his fingers through her hair. He tasted her deeply, crushing her against his body to make sure she felt his arousal.
“The problem with kissing you,” He claimed her lips again. “Is that it makes me hungry.”
Emily’s fingers bunched the front of his t-shirt. The rise and fall of her breasts tortured him. The flush of her skin and the quick rhythm of her pulse teased his senses. He wanted to do more than just kiss her. His teeth grazed her throat, bringing a soft moan from her.
She backed away, eyes full of lust and fear. What a tantalizing combination.
He allowed her to leave his embrace. He needed to get these silly thoughts out of his head. This girl should not be eliciting notions such as these. She was simply a pawn, perhaps a meal. Nothing more.
Emily sank into the closest chair and looked at him.
“What’s wrong?” He winced after he’d said it. What did he care?
“I can’t figure you out. I don’t know if you want to eat me or sleep with me.”
“If I said both?”

When it all comes down to it, Emily now has a vampire she's romantically entangled with, a very angry Mistress who doesn't like to share her toys, and an incredibly powerful witch who realizes killing Emily is the gateway to what she wants. By the end, Emily will have to figure out who she can trust, who she has to align with even if she doesn't trust them and just who has the darkest nature of all.
