Things that make you go GRRRRR....when you get an unjust rating bc its personal. #WriterProblems #BookReview #Goodreads
As I was going through Finding Jordie's Goodreads page prepping for the relaunch I noticed a two more 2 star ratings and connected likes on those ratings. Naturally, I needed to know how this group of people were connected. Was it a book club that read it and all hated it? Did a blogger blog something and then peeps checked it out? I like to know these things, shoot me. So I began clicking away at the likes and two stars and this is what I found out.
This was the first person that started the chain of 2 stars. Just joined GR, has read only one book, of course it was mine and she gave it two stars.
Here is the other screen shot of the lonely poor rating of FJ all by itself. Apparently it was so bad she joined goodreads just to rate it and gave up on reading forever. As the connections go on (and I wasn't SS'ing all of them) you can see their connection. Same town, same two friends, same two star rating. Same book. The only book.
What I need you all to understand is that I know Finding Jordie will not be for everyone. If you've put out there that you didn't enjoy it for such and such reason, cool. I thank you for giving it an honest go, but to shit on somebody's work just because you don't care for them as a person is childish and uncalled for. At the least don't be a chicken shit and hide behind it, own it. It just really sucks that someone would go through such lengths to sucker punch someone and belittle their work like it was a game or something.
Like I said, Two stars, No problem! I'll take it in, consider what they've said and hopefully make the ones to follow stronger. Constructive criticism is welcome, always. Vindictive, bitter and personal for whatever reason, no thanks.
Whoever did this, I am asking you to email me and tell me the shortcomings, what you liked, or didn't like. I know you can't do that though, it's obvious by your one book two star rating what your main objective was...and it stinks.
