EFFING SH*T

That awkward as hell moment when you realize you've accidentally uploaded the wrong file to Amazon, and some poor people out there have downloaded the first draft of your work. -- If this is you, I'm sorry. Please get your refund and contact me.

Thanks.

MissyGirl Oh no! That sucks. I hope it's not too big of an issue for you, and you can resolve it quickly!! :)

Jay McLean Thanks. I've just uploaded the latest one but it takes hours. And then I have to wait on azon to see if they can pull it completely without too much messing around. I just feel bad for the people that have paid for a shite copy :(

HJ When you upload corrected versions to Amazon, you can request that they notify all purchasers that they can 'update' to the newer version, so no refunds are necessary. As long as you do it as an update, and not a republished book. Otherwise, the only way to get the newer version is to repurchase.

Thank you so much for letting me know. I will do it now. The new version just went live, so hopefully they can notify within 24 hours. I feel horrible for all the people that got such a sh*t version.

HJ I'm keeping a lookout for the new version, and I don't see it. The only version showing on Amazon is the one I already have.

Jay McLean I have uploaded the latest edited copy I have. The previous one (which I'm assuming is the one you have) was a draft. It had a lot more errors in it. I know that this one will still have some, but hopefully nowhere near as many, mistakes.
I took your advice and am getting it professionally edited. They can't get it to me until Tuesday/Wednesday which is about the same time as it takes for Amazon to remove it.

If you want to wait for the proper edited version, I'm happy to email you a copy as soon as it's done, and you can get the refund from Amazon.

I really don't want the editing to take away from the story.

HJ Thank you. I'll consider your offer. :)

Jay McLean I've just had a look. It's showing up as the right copy in my KDP account, but I've gone to the kindle manager and tried to update the latest one it keeps downloading the wrong version. Not sure what is happening but sent Amazon on email about it.
