We thought we were going to complete hike five of the Rim Trail and ended up taking a wrong turn which lead us on to the upper Armstrong Pass trail. It was a steady incline for the first mile, then a gradual downhill for the next eight miles. It was a better mountain biking trail than hiking trail. There were a few scenic spots, but for the most part it was deep in the woods with a dusty, rocky path. Bring the bug spray, lots of flies!
