Feels Like... Both Sides Now

Picture      I am happy and proud to announce that my new book, Both Sides Now is live and available on Amazon. (If you click the link, it will take you to the Kindle page on Amazon. It's also available in paperback.) I picked the symbol of the yin/yang because when it is combined with Feels Like the First Time it tells the complete story of an entire aspect of our lives. If you're not familiar with the story that is covered in these two books, here it is in a nutshell:
A beautiful young girl moved from California to a small town in Washington State, next door to a bookish, nerdy young man. They became friends, then fell in love. A story as old as time. They had wonderful, happy times together, exploring the exultation of innocent love. Over time, circumstances intervened and the two young lovers were separated for many years. The real question of the book is: Does first love last? You'll find the answer in both books, although they are both told from different perspectives.
Feels Like the First Time told the story from my own perspective as a geeky adolescent male. When I decided to write the book, I committed to being honest about everything, no matter how painful. What I didn't know was that writing Both Sides Now, which told the same story from my wife Dawn's perspective would prove to be even more difficult. There were portions of the story that were devastating to me to write. Still, as before, I knew it wasn't worth doing if it wasn't done honestly, and so it is.
I still have one more project I want to tackle out of this story, but having spent almost all my creative energies on telling this story for the last several years, I'm going to wait until 2014 to do it. I have other stories stacked up in my brain like airplanes waiting to land at Sea-Tac airport and I've got to give them clearance to touch down.
Up next: In early October (or earlier) I plan on releasing Rock 'n Roll Heaven. It will tell the story of Jimmy 'Guitar' Velvet, a small-time guitarist who meets an unfortunate end, only to meet his rock 'n roll heroes - Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley, Jim Morrison, John Lennon, Janis Joplin, etc. It's a story I've been writing in my head for over 20 years and it's time to put it down on paper. It will be a full-length novel and should be out in the next 90 days.
Today, though, belongs to Both Sides Now, a simple story of love found, lost, and found again. I am proud of it, and I really hope you will enjoy it.  Picture
